Photowalk: The Alief International Parade (year THREE!)

<p><img style="float:left; margin-right:4px" src="http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/5/8/1/d/event_20842557.jpeg" alt="photo" class="photo" />Houston Photowalks</p> <p><p><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2521/3967094825_448eac3c59_m.jpg" />Its that time of year again! &nbsp;Once a year we attend a small town parade in Alief, Texas. &nbsp;The parade officially starts at 9am! &nbsp; <strong>Those with HoustonPhotowalks.com photographer's badges can enter the "staging" area as early as 8:15am.</strong></p> <p>Just like years previous, we have permission to walk around in the "staging" area while everyone is getting ready. &nbsp;Bands, floats, officials, police, fire, horses, etc. &nbsp;Its a HUGE bonus that they are letting us do it again this year!! &nbsp;</p> <p>Meet at the East/West Bank building ( <a href="http://bit.ly/KgZK4" target="_blank">http://bit.ly/KgZK4...</a> ) at 8:15 AM to get a photographer's badge. &nbsp; <span><strong>AT EXACTLY 8:16am we start walking</strong></span> . &nbsp;Please arrive on time to get your badge, I will not have them with me once I start photowalking.</p> <p>If you have your photog badge from last year, feel free to wear it.</p> <p><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3227/4014150632_e012c7a6e2_m.jpg" /> <img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2585/3970915613_e247ccac5b_m.jpg" />The parade route will travel West on Bellaire from Wilcrest to Cook Road and end at Hastings Ninth Grade Center. &nbsp; This is a great opportunity for people-shots, group-shots, crowd-shots, public official-shots, and even a large group of police cars and horses that attend each year.</p> <p>You might get your best shots if you walk about 2 blocks West on Bellaire. &nbsp;This will help you avoid getting too many power lines, graffiti and stop-lights in your shots.</p> <p><strong>To thank Marie Lee of Alief Community Association for giving us access to the "start" location, I will be sending her a disc with some images of the event.
